If a beautiful June day will be outside on the harbor area by the museum. The Michigan Maritime Museum has wonderful displays and several fun opportunities for cruises on the Lindy Lou or the Friends Good Will. Also this Saturday is the museum’s Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show.
Sport loves libraries. especially during summer reading programs! Hackley’s summer program runs from June 17-August 17 with the theme of A Universe of Stories. We’ll explore the universe of Lake Michigan.
Sport will be welcoming travelers to Michigan on the Saturday before July 4th. Pam will be sharing information about Sport’s story, either inside the center or outside in their park setting. The New Buffalo Center, just north of the Indiana-Michigan border has lots of brochures, maps and guidebooks about Michigan. The center is staffed by experts in all things Michigan.
What a wonderful bookstore – used, collectible, signed and new books all beautifully displayed. Booker, the resident bookstore dog will meet and greet you! The Haferman’s, the owners are also committed to welcoming you to their book world. Time TBA

White River is part of the Sable Point Lighthouse Keepers Association which also includes Big Sable Point, Little Sable Point and the Ludington Breakwater. All are worth a visit.
Family Program onboard the 2 p.m (C.S.T.) departure. Arrival in Ludington at 7 p.m. (E.S.T.) You can only know Lake Michigan by being out on her waters! Thanks to the S.S. Badger Company for keeping Great Lakes passenger ship travel going. In 2016 the S.S. Badger was designated a National Historical Landmark.

The museum is located in a former U.S. Coast Guard Station, which is now listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Beautiful setting on Lake Michigan.
Author reading and program for children during Kid’s Day at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. 2 programs, 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sport will feel right at home in this lovely maritime town!
The museum’s special exhibit is: Icebound – The Ordeal of the S.S. Michigan, which in 1885 became icebound on Lake Michigan. Displays tell of the many dramatic episodes of the story.
Exploration Station for program each day at 11:00. Books available and the Wisconsin Historical Society Press will be in the Artist’s Showcase during all hours of the Tall Ships.

Kenosha YMCa – Water Safety at 1:00 pm. and other programs such as invasive species, Captain Chats, Vampire fish, etc.
