The museum is located in a former U.S. Coast Guard Station, which is now listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Beautiful setting on Lake Michigan.
Author reading and program for children during Kid’s Day at the Grand Haven Coast Guard Festival. 2 programs, 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sport will feel right at home in this lovely maritime town!
The museum’s special exhibit is: Icebound – The Ordeal of the S.S. Michigan, which in 1885 became icebound on Lake Michigan. Displays tell of the many dramatic episodes of the story.
Exploration Station for program each day at 11:00. Books available and the Wisconsin Historical Society Press will be in the Artist’s Showcase during all hours of the Tall Ships.
Other programs in the Exploration Station include: Tom Kastle, G. L. storyteller and musician at 12:00 pm on Friday,
Kenosha YMCa – Water Safety at 1:00 pm. and other programs such as invasive species, Captain Chats, Vampire fish, etc.

Cherry Capital and Ironman 70.3 meet this weekend. TC’s first Ironman will be on Sunday August 25. Everyone calm and rested as they explore TC and Horizon Books on Saturday. If you can’t be in TC this weekend, see their website for all the author and other activities they host, plus the Shine Cafe at Horizon.
